Animal Rights

L&E is revitalizing the animal rights movement by strengthening the infrastructure of member organizations and integrating their efforts with broader environmental concerns. Additionally, L&E promotes wildlife protection through activities around World Wildlife Day and the "Living City" project, which began in Herzliya to safeguard urban wildlife.

Infrastructure for the Animal Rights Movement

L&E acknowledges the vital role of a robust animal rights movement in advocating for effective animal welfare. Despite its history of strength and unity, the movement has encountered challenges in recent years. In response, L&E has adopted a comprehensive approach to rejuvenate and empower the animal rights movement. L&E aims to strengthen the infrastructure of animal welfare member organizations, enhance their capacity, and foster greater integration with the broader environmental movement. Our aim is to promote plant-based diets and animal welfare by building community, aligning efforts, and advocating for systemic policy change.

Protecting Wildlife

World Wildlife Day: L&A leads the organization of a week of events around International Wildlife Day, including Zoom lectures for schools and the general public, lesson plans and activities for educators, as well as tours and interactive experiences. The goal is to increase public tolerance for wildlife in residential areas and promote a protected and inclusive environment for them, providing practical tools for implementing effective wildlife conservation measures.

Wildlife Protection in Local Authorities - Living City Project: In early 2022, L&A began developing the "Living City" project, aimed at protecting wildlife within the boundaries of local authorities. The project was officially launched in the city of Herzliya in April 2023.
